My boyfriend is going back to Iraq as a logistics officer in the 11-member transition team.

I read some articles from online and learned that they live with Iraqis on outpost.... very dangerous job and terrible living conditions? I am so worried about his safety!!!

Does anybody know what their daily life look like, and if the US advisors also get involved in patrol, combat action, etc. with the Iraq troops?

Logisitics in the Army encompasses three branches, transportation, quartermaster, and ordnance. No, none of those are usually involved with kicking down doors. However, all may be involved with convoys and with leading the quick reaction force on a logistical supply area base.

The old "in the rear with all the gear" adage really doesn't apply in Iraq the way it did in Cold War formations. In Iraq there is no "rear". One of thee hottest places I was ever at was an LSA in northern Iraq and one of the most dangerous jobs is a transportation platoon leader.

All of that said, your boyfriend sounds like he will be working to help the Iraqi forces get their own logistics efforts going. He should be about as safe as anyone can be in that environment.

Nah,logistics is a cushy number and your boyfriend is a good guy to know.logistics is to do with supply.

Well its cushy ordinarily, unfortunately he will probably be in the one place most of the time, what this means in iraq is that he may be subject to the odd mortar attack.

Still a lot better than going out on patrol or having police duties,Its probably as easy as things can get.

i'm fairly particular that it truly is criminal because your son slamming the door contained in the officials face might want to offer them probable reason to anticipate some thing unlawful is going on. in case your son might want to have by no ability responded the door and they could no longer see in the homestead then they could of had to get a warrant to break the door down. in spite of the undeniable fact that , no matter if he did not open the door yet they said him positioned some thing down or away ( even the distant ) they have the right to anticipate the worst and forcefully enter the homestead. i'm fairly particular it truly is the way it extremely works.
