I have this pain in my chest every once in a while and I want to know if it is heartburn. Thank You!!!

It feels like a burning pain that can occur from under your left breast (stomach) and to the center of your breast bone all the way up to your throat. It can also cause a feeling of pressure in your throat. If you have it bad it can actually go up your throat while you sleep and cause you to caugh in the morning. It will not however cause your arm to hurt or affect your breathing. Sweating or having a short of breath feeling might be signs of something more serious, and may require immediete care. Take some antacids and if you have reoccuring symptoms start taking prilosec otc. If it still persists see a doctor.

There's a whole wide area to cover here and it might not be heartburn. When does this act up, after drinking pop or beer, tomatoes products, acidity type foods or what ever when you lie down is there pain? Go to webmd.com and type in the question. I hope you do not have this I do and mine is really bad, and I have two ulcers in my throat and stomach, going tru a divorce doesn't help any!!

For me it feels like I'm swallowing a torch. You'll definitely feel the "burn" if it's heartburn. If it's just pain, then most likely it's not heartburn. Check with your doctor to be sure.

Heartburn feels exactly as it's called...it is a burning feeling you get in the center of your chest, extremely uncomfortable, from the stomach acids coming up into your esophogus.
