i foudn a lump on my arm and went to the docter and shes said its a lipoma and its no big deal and said ill get it removed 2/12/07 and its been hurt worse and worse since then dose anyone else have one or know anything about them?

im 21 years old and it is under my right bicep and if i mess with it it make my whole arm tingle the docter said i had it for years but it got bigger

Lipomas are generally not painful in themselves because they have few or no internal nerve endings. A sufficiently large lipoma may press on other structures and cause discomfort in that sense. If the mass itself is painful or tender, it's not a lipoma or cyst. You're lucky to get a surgery that soon, but insist on a full biopsy to make sure it's not something you need to worry about.

I have had lipomas for about 20 years...They do tend to grow with time and can push on nerves which can cause discomfort.
