I'm mixed and I have long straight hair, what can I use to stop my hair from breaking so much and my ends from splitting so much.

First you didn't tell us the cause of your problems, but like most mix girls like myself you could be over stressing your hair. Am not sure if you're mixed with African-American or not, but if so; daily washings, constant heat, hair spray, and hair gel is your number one problem.

If your breakage is mostly from the bottom up (your ends are just frizzled and hair is splitting) you just need to stop flat ironing your hair so much and just get your hair trimmed reguarly.

But if your hair is breaking from all over the spot that's another serious problem due to either how you sleep, or style your hair.

there's a hairbrush called "Ouchless hair brush" you can buy for $10. It pulls a lot less and detangles your hair easier. PLUS, brush at the bottom of your hair first-
If you brush from the top down, you're just making a huge tangle which is hard to get out. ((Same as taking a twisted piece of yarn and pulling on both ends.. just makes it tighter and harder to untangle).
So brush out the very base, then up a few inches, etc... it makes it easier to brush and less likely that your hair will split.

I like fructis length and strength shampoo and conditioner. Get trims often, and careful with dryers and irons, try to limit to every other day, if even that. Weekly deep conditioning helps too
