Depends on what your life style is. Do you want a small.medium.large, or extra large. Will you be keeping or dog inside or out. Do you want a companion, guard or watch dog. Do you want a dog that goes jogging with you or do you want one that is going to be a couch potato. Before you get a dog you need to lots of research and talk to lots of breeders. They can help you answer any questions you might have on the breed. Their quizzes out there that can help you find the right the dog for you. You basically want to get the dog that is going to fit your personality. If you are not a high energy person than lets say a blue heeler wouldn't be a good dog for you because they have to be doing something all the time. Like you love really big dogs than a beagle wouldn't be a good fit. I have owned 3 rotts and they where very good dogs but they where pretty dominate too and i had to step up and show them i was in charge. I currently own an English mastiff mix and he pretty mellow and wants to learn and listens well. I hope this you.

Well if you want a little dog then a mix of toy breeds would be good. Like a schnoodle (schnauzer poodle) is a good choice. Then if you want a companion that will be more loyal then a golder retriever would be great too! It really does depend on what kind of person you are! You can always google different websites also to find out about different breeds and their known personalities!
Good luck!

Every breed is the best type for somebody. I happen to like bulldogs and Great Danes because they have laid back temperments. If you prefer a dog that is rambuncous to the point of insanity get a boader collie. Do you want a watch dog, well then a doberman or a boxer would be good. Go to the AKC website and look up dogs to see which one fits your lifestlye, budget, and temperment.

Alot depends on your own personality. If you are active and don't mind a hyper dog Jack Russels and Boarder Collies are good. If you are more laid back and want a dog like that Great Danes and Mastiffs are good. I personally love my Danes and think they are the best dogs. They are playful yet laid back and extremely loyal yet friendly. But they are not for everyone. You have to like BIG dogs and have the time to properly train them. Afterall, if you take them for a walk, you want to ensure you are walking them and not vice versa.

I have a shihtzu and she's absolutely adorable and sweet. But shihtzus generally are not good with kids. so if you have small kids in the house, you may not want to get a shihtzu.

Depends on your lifestyle, the size of your home, and what your personal preferences are. I like labs because they are friendly, smart, low maintenance, athletic, and big.
