America has been the holy grail for many people over the years. Migration proves this... This gave the american gouvernement the idea that their (free country) way was the (only) right way. Along with the collapsing of the Sovjet union, the downfall of the Castro regime and such, the USA figuered their capitalistic views should be the standard. Their superior (military and economic) power kinda makes them the 'police' of the world. That's probably why they want to catch/controll the way people think in our world.
