Pine wood is good, but I stay away from giving them the needles because they're so pokey. I don't KNOW that they'd hurt themselves on it, but since I hate paying vet bills, I tend to be a little more cautious.
What I did was take a maple tree that had gotten damaged at my parents place from a tornado and put that up in the bird's room. I took all the leaves off, sawed off the branches that were too flimsy to hold them and then I anchored that to the floor, ceiling and walls of Rio and Katie's room. They freakin' love it. At first they were a little freaked out about it, but as soon as they figured out that the branches were really fun perches that would hold toys and had plenty of room to swing from branch to branch it was a field day in there. LOL
Good luck!

Some christmas trees like any other tree are poisnonous to parrots, also the needless on christmas trees are poisonous to parrots, also when using any tree/branch they should be disinfected first as they can also carry diseases and germs which could kill a parrot

the better chook, who now no longer tastes of the end result, bitter and sweet, is the better self. the different chook, who tastes the end result one after the different, hoping that they are going to all be sweet, is the deluded one. we stay in this international and locate to our horror that the real nature of human journey isn't all sweet, that happiness won't be able to be chased after completely, that there are as many sorrows as there are joys. The sensible guy stops operating after the flaws of the international.
