How many of you believe there is more to God than what we read in the Bible? Why does Christianity have to seem so limited. Everywhere I look, in the clouds, trees, earth, I want to see and learn about God. I want to know more about plants and medicine. I want to explore meditation with God. But everytime I talk about these things with other Christian, they question my faith.
I just want to expand on my faith. I don't want to miss out on anything that God has to show or teach me.

Ok, just to let you know, I am definately not pantheism.
And as example: I am interested in working with herbs as flavor enhancers and medicines. I have been told that working with herbs is the work of the devil.

The Bible says more about the cosmos and nature than you think. Many extremely wonderful discoveries started with a basic respect for the scriptures. Morris discovered that the seas have a path of currents based on a statement in the Psalms (for example).
As for Christians questioning your faith. Perhaps you are leaning too much toward pantheism. It is hard to tell from your question.

The Bible, as we know it, is a translation of a translation of a translation (and maybe more generations of translation). Also, there were a lot of other writings about Jesus from the same period as the Gospels that weren't included. Just recently a purported Gospel of Judas has been found, and I think I read that there is also a Gospel of Mary.
I think there is much more to the divine than can be contained in a mere book, although books can introduce you to different paths, along with people following those paths. Keep reading and keep listening. Eventually you will find a path that resonates with you.

Katie, That's a good question, and you would know that there couldn't be any book that cold be written and tell all there is to know about a creator of an expanding universe ,plus the complex details of mans abilities alone. However your abilities are telling you much in what you see around you in some of his creation. And as unpopular as it may sound your best bet for more accurate knowledge is to connect with one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Well, the Bible itself speaks of other books, which were apparently lost and weren't included in the canon of scripture. Whoever says the Bible contains all God ever revealed hasn't read the Bible.

YES! Yes, I believe this. The Bible is a fascinating and incredible book, but it's not the only chapter in the story that is God.

Most religions grant that God is more than we humans can comprehend. What are the chances that a God like that could be completely described in one book...
There isn't a place where you won't find God, and so in my book, you're doing fine.

If it isn't in the bible it isn't worth knowing. The bible is the only thing we know is true. Any thing else is the words of men. If you start believing things not in the bible such as Science or Math you will be fooled by Satan.

I don't follow any religion and only answer to God, open your heart and mind and he'll show you who he is.
I see him strongest in children, the power to do great things with a heart of gold that only knows love.
