It is full of mice, and conventional traps aren't working. How can I encourage neighbourhood cats to go in there at night and take care of them?

Leave it uncovered and put an open tin of tuna or kippers or cat food in there. Catnip might also help.

cats love tuna and salmon.. buy some canned of both and leave in an area that they can find but away from the rats and mice.. make it easy to the cats and they will make it a ratless and mouseless environment.. since rats and mice also like fish, they will fight over it.. if a cat is fighting a mouse or rat over the food.. guess who wins.

if you have alot of stray or out at night neighborhood cats... leave some canned food out just inside the door and leave it open..make 'em comfortable with that and eventually they will hang out there and wala..dont forget to get rid of traps and or poison first....smile.. good luck..

what about getting a cat yourself?? mabey put it in the garage at night for a few hours prior to bed time?? but dont get one just to be an outside cat that would be wrong.... good luck

Take out the traps, leave your garage door cracked open, & put cat food (not too much) & water inside.

Leave it open just enough for them to come in? You'll probably get snakes too though. Good luck with THAT.

Perhaps try an exterminator?

Or put out some cheese and make friends.

Leave cat food out. They'll find you. :)
