For me they are different programs for different uses. I hardly ever use Limewire or any other similar P2P software any more, although for a while it was all I used. Now I only really use Bittorrent as people are obliged rather than forced into sharing, it makes for a friendlier community. It is also much easier to share and search for large files. And people can leave comments about torrents on the web pages you download from so you can tell which have bugs or viruses etc. In Limewire files can be faked or contain spyware and you wont know until you download. It is good for the odd small file though...

Technologically, BitTorrent is a superior protocol for file sharing. Limewire is easy for beginners to use. If you have technical knowledge, go for BitTorrent.

It's generally easier to find individual songs on LimeWire. BitTorrent is better for whole albums or movies.

If you're a newbie get Limewire. If you know what you're doing, get Bittorrent.

limewire works awesome for people who only have basic knowledge of the computer. torrent files work best but you have to know how to enable ports on your computer, and when you do you have a bigger risk of getting a virus. anyways, hope this helps
