Read the instructions, cook some rice, also letting it sit with hot water and dish soap for a few minutes while washing the other dishes, then wash the pan. Leaving it over night or in the dishwasher can hurt it. You can spray a light pam if sticking occures.

I read through the other replies and I have another... try different kinds of rice. Long grain rice. Short grain rice. Basmati rice and Jasmine are very popular. There's also Spanish rice, Mexican rice, Dirty Rice and New Orleans style.
Some rice is sticky when it is cooked. For this reason it easy to handle with chopsticks. Sticky rice is more glutinous than other varieties and any form of rice like long, short and medium rice could be sticky when cooked.

I don't use the pretend measuring cup that came with mine. I use just what I would use in my double-boiler: 1 cup water to 1/2 cup rice, plus a pat of butter (makes it taste better, for some reason).
I wish mine had a better timer -- it has a red light and the rice is ready 15 minutes after the light goes off... pretty inconvienent, but it does make pretty good rice.

I know its not as good for you but it cooks so much better....before cooking it I rinse my rice until the water runs somewhat clear, the rice cooks more evenly and its more fluffy......I tried a recipe once in it but it didnt turn out...had to actually throw away the pot cause the rice stuck and ruined the bottom.

Yes I have one and wouldn't do without one,but I use chinese rice it's much better than normal rice less starchy and has much more flavor, the kind I use is Rose brand not the sticky rice,so if you decide to try this rice make sure you do not purchase the sticky rice, just ask your merchant.

Its very handy. Follow the exact instructions as to how much water to add and dont add more. You could mix in some sliced onions or easy cook vegetables to add flavour to the rice or use meat/veg stock instead of water.

Yes - I have one, used it a few times and now it sits. They are very messy. A slow cooker like a crockpot does a much better job.

Keep it on the counter....experiment, and add interesting things to your rice...herbs, fruit, veggies, etc, and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!
Don't try to convince yourself to eat stuff that you can't stand, and keep looking for more recipes that you love, and you'll find yourself eating healthier and healthier.
