set a good example. when you're with him, don't say anything bad about anybody, do people random favors, only say good things about others, blah blah. That's what I try to do for my younger cousins.

LOL you know that had someone sat you down back then, you'd have been like 'Yah whatever dude F off". Or at least that was my reaction whenever someone told me what a screwup I was. :D
Take him out somewhere he'll think is cool but that will be devoid of the crowd he runs with, and just BS with him about things for a while. Once you've got a decent convo going on, start tellin him how you wish you could change things in the past, and it bothers you to see him heading down the same road you were on. He'll listen if he thinks of you as his cool cousin... may not change his ways but you'll get him to thinking.
Maybe.
Good luck. Lead by example, show him there's more to life.

so what u tellin us for. why u aint tellin this to him. my man was a really bad guy in HS. and the town parta guy. everyone loved him. cops hated him. prison got him for 22months, then he got out, left town, met me, got his life right n we got 3 teenage boys now. n he dont want our boys to be like he was in HS at all. and oh ya we moved to where he grew up. now our boys are popular but one likes to fight when someone jawjaps crap to them ( he is 14, 4ft 9, n 90lbs ) so he is no match for anyone. but he holds his own. thats good and all (n i encourage him to hold his own) but he usually starts alot of it. that i dont go for. he likes to run his mouth n spends most his wknds in saturday school. all i can say is teach this guy that there is a time n place for all the things u did, and that u wish u would of had someone teach u that. help guide him thru this..dont preach to em..that makes it worse.

Set a good example NOW, such as going to college, getting a career. It is by your actions, and not your words that is going to set the example.
Hope this helps! :)
Best of Luck!

Just don't be to bossy with him, I believe he has the right to chose what's right for him or not, you should know what I am talking about.
What You can do is yo be there for him and show him that no matter what he will have your support.
