Everytime I visit my doctor for my annual exam after having a tubal, she always reminds me that you can still get pregnant and to still monitor your periods. I'd call the doctor tomorrow just for peace of mind.

It's a possibility, but a slim one. What you will want to do is see your doctor. An ectopic pregnancy is a serious issue and it doesn't come to term.

I have had a tubal many years ago (almost 20). About a year or so ago, I missed periods and had some pregnancy symptoms, and that scared me cause I'm in my late 40s. After the missed periods, I would have a very long and heavy period because there was a hormonal imbalance due to the cysts.

What happened was I have ovarian cysts, which are more common in women who have had tubals. It's not a serious issue, but you will want to have them monitored. With the cysts, I do have some cramping, almost like appendecitis when they flare up. I am on progesterone to take care of the hormonal imbalance and have them monitored through ultrasounds.

Talk to your doctor asap. You are young and you don't want to risk your health if it is an ectopic pregnancy. Rule that out first and see what else would be the matter. Good luck.

It's rare but the tubes can grow back after being tied off. If you think you might be pregnant, use a home pregnancy test. Then see your doctor and ask to have an exam to determine if you have an ectopic. Good luck.

if the doctors only cut your tubes, then there is a possibility of becoming pregnant, in order to be 100% sterile, the doctor would have to cut and burn tubes.... but check with the ob/gyn that did the surgery and possiblity the hospital records to see exactly what procedure they did....and if you are pregnant,,,, get a good lawyer
