I have them too! They suck! I hear that sometimes anemia can cause them too as well as the other things you have already mentioned above. Anemia causes them by breaking blood vessels under the skin causing bruising. Otherwise, I am not sure what else causes them.
I use the Mary Kay Highlighter Pen for my under eye and they also have a great concealer which you would want in a yellow tone to brighten the under eye. I like the highlighter pen because it reflects light and causes your dark circles, blemishes and dark spots to disappear as well as make under eye bags look less puffy.
They also sell Timewise firming eye cream that reduces puffiness, brighten and reduced wrinkles but I have not tried it yet so I am not sure how that works. The one customer that has used it, loves it, but I do not know personally!
Good Luck!

I have them too! I am Russian decent and have bothered with them my whole life. I actually found an all natural skin care company that sells THE ONLY eye creme that actually works on dark circles without that "whiteout" bleaching look other companies offer. I loved the stuff so much that I started sharing it with my friends (who also fell in love with it). If you want to see what I am talking about visit my website at www.jm.myarbonne.com I am positive it will work for you and you wont need makeup to cover it up

Heredity. I have them, too. I have 3 Irish grandparents & one Polish. He had the dark circles & so do I. Three of my 5 sons have them, too. Can't do much about it. They have some creams that help lighten it otherwise I just use concealer.

Seeped tea bags (black tea) placed on closed eyes for ten minutes. I heard this works. Make sure they've cooled off before you put them on your face:)

Get concealer that is one shade lighter than your natural skin tone. Then get foundation that matches your skin tone and blend.

it could be on age- if you're not doing any drugs or anything- you should see a doctor.
