I also have heard it is very dangerous. There are alot of gang fights between the Crips and the Bloods. Better watch out, or you might get shot. You could probaly get mugged by some desparate dude. They are very poor.

I've never been to Brooklyn so I don't know what it's like. Compton is a predominately Black and Hispanic city. It has a gang problem so be careful about what "colors" you wear. It has a high murder rate, but that's mostly the gang bangers shooting at each other. You probably won't have any problems during the day time, but it isn't the place to be wondering around alone at night. This is not to say that you won't find some very nice parts of town. I used to work in Compton and you will find lots of good, honest friendly people there, it's just the "rotten apples" that give the town it's bad reputation.

It's a regular neighborhood. I'm from from Compton, and I've never been a victim of a crime, but I know alot of people that have been a victim and I also know some that did the crimes. It's rough here at times, and other times its pretty mellow. I can't speak on Brooklyn I never been ther only to New York City. crime.

Absolutely. So is Inglewood, California. My oldest son works for an oil rig company and lives in a town a couple of hours away from Inglewood. He and his crew were sent to Inglewood to work on a rig for a couple of weeks, and the company he works for sent security guards along with the crew to the job site. He said when they were working at night on the rig, that people would drive by the rig and shoot at it, trying to shoot the lights out on the rig. I would avoid both of these towns at all costs.

Compton born:here

If you don't have to be in CPT, Don't,

I still keep my cars doors locked and my windows at least 1/2 way up when i'm visiting familia...

Weak police force, lots of questionable activity day or night... look in someones direction wrong and a mouthfull of bullshit comes at you! if not more.

God luck

Every city has its good and bad. Compton is not as horrible as people make it out to be. If you have to go to Compton, you'll be fine.

don't know about brooklyn, but it is dangerous. And worst of all their police department has been in a lot of hot water for corruption, beatings and the like.

Don't go there if you can help it.
