I got my pay stub & I have an extra $80 in my check. It's for Cafeteria. Does anyone know what this means? I haven't signed up for anything at work. Also why would it say deductions but it added money in my check??

Did you recently change your insurance? Maybe the $80 is reimbursement for premiums which were taken out of your pay but were not applied to pay for insurance since you changed to your husband's insurance.

I am guessing here (why don't you just ask payroll or HR?) that your work cafeteria is paid for by yearly payment from each employee. Maybe this payment has been is a pro-rata refund as you have not been there a whole year? Maybe the profits make from the cafeteria are returned to each employee as a type of dividend?

It seem like a credit for something that is normally a deduction.

Unless someones works at your company I am not sure you are going to get a good answer.

It is part of your insurance deductions. Cafeteria plan.
