I get up at 4:30 am each morning, to get the kids breakfast and off to school. The only problem is my dogs are so used to getting up at this time. They dont understand Saturday and Sunday we would like to sleep in. I know they cant tell time but, If we arent up by 4:30 they make sure we are. Does your dog do this?

My dogs have a doggie door and a constant water sourse. So that cant be the reason. They really just want us up.

They can't tell time, obviously, but dogs adapt to a set schedule. Doing things regularly sets a schedule for them to feel secure. They just feel its about time because the're accustomed to it- waking up, eating, going for a walk, etc. they know when its time to do a particular activity or action.

If I am not up by 7:30 am my Lab is on top of me. He will pounce right on top of me and continue to do so until I move. If for some odd reason that does not work he pulls the covers off. But at least he gives me until 7:30. And it is an every day occurence without fail.

Yes. Our Chihuahua Stanly does this, too. If you find a way to stop it, you'll be a major blessing to humanity.

Stanly wants me to get up at 5:30; the problem is that I don't have to be up until 8 to make it to the office by my starting time of 10 a.m. I guess he figures, if he's awake, I should be, too.

I always tell him, "Go to bed." And he does. It's not so much that he wakes me at that ghastly hour, it's that I can't get back to sleep!

Edit: Stanly is litter trained. That is why he's not crated at night, so he can take advantage of the litter box.

i just got a puppy and every mroing he wakes up early like on school days for the kids and is used to go to the bathhroom at that time. So on the weekends he wakes up early to go to the bathroom. so that means he wakes us up.

I think a lot of dogs do this. Hope i helped.

My old dog used to do this. If I wasn't up at 6 a.m., he'd position himself right by the bed, stare at me, and howl. Once I got up, he'd find a nice comfy spot to curl up and go to sleep. He didn't need me awake for anything, he just wanted to make sure that I was awake when I was "supposed" to be.

Yeah, my puppy does that. During the week I get up at 5:00, and he get's up then, and let outside. He goes to bed at 9:00 also. On Friday night, he doesn't go to bed till around 11:00, but he still tries to wake me up at 5:00. It's very unfortunate! :D

I have a pretty unpredictable work schedule, sometimes I work days and sometimes nights.
My dogs sleep with me and thankfully they don't make a peep until I get up.
Of course I let them out last thing before I go to bed.

You like longboarding-your not a poser You learned a few tricks-your not a poser YOU is the key word here, like the other guy said, just be yourself, and just so you know there are as many girls that longboard in my group as guys. Plenty of people just cruise and carve on their longboards and they aren't considered posers. Just keep not caring(if that makes sense) about others opinions.
