Totally depends on that person because the same thing cant be said about everyone in any walk of life. But Ive stated before that most of the people I hang out with are either Agnostic or Atheist. I only have one person close to me that is Christian. I cant come up with a generalization for any group but I can find decent people in all groups (well except child molesters and serial killers)

If they belong to a faith-based religion, then acknowledge that you are impressed by their faith and their ability to maintain faithfulness. If they don't have a faith-based religion, then acknowledge that you are impressed with their ability to be a free and independent thinker!
It has nothing to do with what people believe in, just say whatever you observe and give someone a compliment - "wow you look nice today", "you are a really good parent", "you do you job so well", "you have a really nice smile".

Atheist- You guys are great. I truly do feel the Atheists who are scientists will be saving our asses in the coming years.

Christians- You guys at least try to get along. With each other at least.

Muslims- You guys are tenacious.... Very tenacious. How your faith survived in such an inhospitable place is beyond me.

Wiccans- Uh, at least you have a basic understanding of Will...

Agnostics- You aren't afraid to say, "I don't know." Kudos.

I understand people of no faith a lot better than they may think I do. I was once exactly in their shoes, before I became a Christian. We all have common ground.

The nicest thing anyone could say would probably be;

"It's so good to see people who are happy with their life"

If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Or at least don't talk about religion around people you don't know very well, it's incredibly rude.
