multiply your current weight by 10 then multiply by 1.7 that will tell how much calories you need per day in order to stay in that weight right now...so then if your losing weight cut down from 200-700 calories per day..you will lose 5-10 pounnds per week.

Your really 13, so do not worry too a lot about it yet. At 13 years previous you'll nevertheless look strong in a bikini at your weight. And dropping 50 lbs might want to be too a lot to lose besides. 30 lbs must be the decrease.

Have your family get you an appointment with a nutritionist or dietician who can work with you to use your particular tastes and lifestyle and help you make better choices about your diet and exercise. Dont beleive the hype and dont fall for the fad diets. The only true way to lose wieht is to burn more calories than you put in your body. So you either have to reduce the amount you put in or increase the amount you burn. Doing both is best. BUt get some advixce from a professional. Good luck.

You are in luck! Atkins diet helped me lose 60 lbs! I did a lot of walking, but you could do less and lose weight too! Just google atkins, make sure you can do this, get approval from your doctor. Ask your mom or dad about this, or your parent or guardian and ask them about the diet. If they have questions they can contact me about it.
Do not diet for longer than a year, for some, it is bad to be on too long. 6 months at most. My cholesterol dropped a lot too, I am now healthy :D
Good luck and sorry about the bad knee, at least you didn't have 1/3 of a ton dropped on your shins -.-

150 lbs isn't such a bad weight for a 13 year old girl. If you're that frustrated about it, start exercising regularly, and eat only healthy foods (the most obvious answers)....otherwise..I wouldnt worry about it so much hun. Most guys love more cushion for the pushin :) You're not done growing yet either, theres still a good chance you could stretch out

I weigh the same thing only i am 5'9, i think that you should cut down on the sugars and carbs, and just get a lot of excersise, muscle weighs more then fat too. also if you really wanna go on a diet diet, first you should ask your mom, but my sister went on the south beach diet and lost 20 pound in 2 weeks, but if you are really that concerned, you should talk to your mom and your doc.

Take up swimming. It's easy on the knees and joints while still giving your body a good workout. And of course, watch what you eat - make it a diverse diet with lots of veggies and fruits.

Are you allowed to walk?walking is so good. Or how about an elyptical trainer - I think it would not jar your knee. But ask your parents, please.
If you are allowed these excercises, try 30 minutes per day. It helps me. I'm 52 and my goal is 1 hour per day on the treadmill.
