DO NOT use conair...they don't work...hot tools and chi are the best brands. revlon is good too. make sure to get a ceramic one, to cut down on damage.
oh, and to the person above me...your hair is already dead cells, so straightening your hair isn't going to make it any more dead. and you won't get split ends if you take care of your hair...i've been straightening my hair for more than 2 years and i have no split ends...and i only get my hair cut once a year pretty much. believe me, i know what i'm talking about.

I agree with the other post on here. CHI is the best in the world, but will cost about 100.00 bucks. However, Revlon does make a straightner that works almost as well.

I'd have to say a Solia, a Sedu, or a Paul Mitchell are definitely the best. They range from $90-$160. You can get all three of them at folica.com :) All three are AMAZING. They probably sound expensive, but in the long run, a professional iron is the best, because they won't burn your hair and they'll last longer than a $30 one you get at Target or Walmart. But still remember to use heat protectants!

I agree with the majority of the people here. A Chi is definitely the best type of straightener to acquire. In addition I use a really nice hair straightener shampoo (yikes I forgot the name, but I get it at beauty brands and its a big orange bottle). Also, Chi sells products of their own to prevent damage to the hair.

My hairdresser uses Chi flatirons, and it works very well on my wavy hair. They are pricy (over $100), but she says they work better than anything else. I have a Revlon that has a straightener and curling iron in one, but it doesn't work as well as the Chi.

straightening your hair is not a good idea, at all.
but if you want one, get a cream, or something for your hair that reduces the damage. or better yet, get a straightner that does less damage.
