Someone has to call the Humane Society on this person, cats don't all of a sudden stop using a litter box. Either the owner is not cleaning it or doesn't have enough litter boxes for three cats. Putting indoor cats outside IN WINTER is as cruel as leaving a child undefended outdoors. These cats need homes and help immediately, those poor animals. My suggestion to you is to keep feeding them set up a warm bed for them something with a cover a good cardboard box with old clothing in it and remember that cats also need water. The cats are afraid and confused and I'm stunned that anyone would do that it's very mean. Call Humane Society, a local vet office or an animal care shelter they will come and get them. If you want to keep one of the cats just go slow they have just lost all trust in humans and you'll have to prove yourself to the cat. Please just keep them as warm as possible get them some toys anything that will calm them I can't imagine what they're feeling right now, it breaks my heart. Please help these cats and report the neighbour you can do it anonymously but I wouldn't I would let this person know exactly how cruel she has been and let the authorities deal with her. Good luck and God bless you for caring enough to help them. Good luck.

First I agree with you. Cats that were indoor cats are going to have a huge problem if thown outside. The one that was very social before is probably having a huge issue. Secondly, my indoor only cats only know to use the litter box indoors, so throwing them out would serve to confuse them. Indoor cats live an average of 11 years while outdoor cats live an average of 3 years. Providing them with a wooden box to live in is fairly cruel. She should have given them up before throwing them out of the house. The one cat will be kept away from the food because the other cats are probably more dominant. Sounds like a sad situation to me. Hopefully it isn't freezing temperatures for them. If I were you, I'd call the shelter and explain the situation and see if you can't get them adopted out to a better home (a no-kill shelter of course).
Additionally, you are a good person. My female cat absolutely refuses to use the litter box(es) unless perfectly immaculate. It is a daily project making sure it is cleaned perfectly for her, but she is worth it. My male (her brother and littermate) doesn't really care (more like a typical male!).
God bless you for taking care of those cats!

Do not frighten the cat. I took in a stray before. Don't use any type of violence or else he/she will be reminded of their harsh past. You could call a kill-free shelter. There are many. They are treated very well there, I know from experience also because I adopted a little cutie pie from one. You could also sell it. Although you would probably have to house-train it. Be patient. They are like babies learning how to walk. Also, if selling to a friend then make sure that they have proper materials and enough time to rake care of it.

You can turn them into the human society that sounds like animal curelty, or you can just take them to the human society and put them up for adoption to loving homes, the longer they stay unsocialized the harder it will be to show them love again. It is your call. If you turn them into the human society as strays I don't think they charge you anything. It is not right to just kick cats out because you are done with them.
Good Luck Kitty!

Sounds like the owner has everything under control, The cat in your greenhouse has adopted you and the other two are being taken care of by the owner.

Well you should tell the naber she is cruelty to animals i mean i had a kitten it took him forever to get house trained i mean after i showed him the litter box yelled at him for pooping on the floor and squirted water on him worked perfectly...but yea if you have the money tell your neibor you'll buy the cat from her and to make it more social..umm...walk up to it slowly be very quiet whisper to it like say "Don't worry I'm not gonna hurt you" or something like that ;) trust me it'll work

The litter problem was not the cats! It was your neighbor! If the neighbor had of kept the litter box clean the cats would have used the litter boxes! Their should have been more than one litter box and they needed to be clean(scooped)out several times a day!If you can take in the cat that has adopted you. And keep the kitty inside and keep the litter box clean with the hard clumping kind of litter. She can learn to trust again. Poor baby. Tell the ex-owner that the cat is yours now. Please give her a good and loving home.

Well you should take all the cats in. Also reporting your neighbor to a local animal shelter could help. Put out food for all the cats and keep a close eye on them.

If the owner is still feeding it, you don't need to feed it too. It will get fat. Many cats enjoy the outdoor life, but it probably will be a bit of an adjustment. Your neighbor does need to provide a sleeping place though, so if you're okay with kitty bedding down in your greenhouse, I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

The humane society could probably help you find homes for the cats if that's what you want to do. If it is cold in the winter where you live be sure that the cats are warm enough outstide and have protection form the weather and other animals.
