non electric wheelchairs start at $1000 and go up from there , you can find cheaper "institutional " grade ones but a loved one will be living in this no?

I would not buy one that is so old unless it is for temporary usage. normal wheelchair life is 5 years. search well you will find great deals on branded new ones. If you spend some time searching you can save money on new ones itself.
