Little story here.:-)
I'm gay, and one year while Xmas shopping some guy tried to pick me up. I said no thanks, I have a partner, and that was that.
A few months later, a van load of JW's shows up at the house. Guess who's driving the van? Too funny! One of the women said they had something to share with me. I said I have something to share with YOU TOO!
The poor guy was sweating bullets. No, I didn't out him, but they sure haven't been back since.
Being closeted for god is NOT a good way to live.

If you're going to lie about JWs, you can do a lot better than this.
As stated above, they don't even start until after 9 AM, because they attend a meeting first to determine whose going where. Second, territories involve a few hundred homes. In fact their record of the location of homes is better than the post office. It takes time to cover a territory, which is checked out by one person or a family. When you see two witnesses working a territory, each has their own territories. They may work one territory one day, than the other the next. Most witnesses put in six hours a month, but there are the part time and full time publishers, who do it every day. You have to be a ful time publisher for two years to qualify to go to Gilead or Bethel. One involves being a volunteer worker in the printing plant, the other does missionary work in other countries.

It is sad when anti-Witnesses work to disseminate untruths about Jehovah's Witnesses:
http://watchtower.org/e/20000622/
Across the United States, Jehovah's Witnesses do not begin their house-to-house ministry before 9:am, except perhaps to businesses which are clearly open. In some areas, and on the weekends, local congregations may choose to wait until 10:am or later before knocking on doors in their territories.
It seems that from time to time, a secular house-to-house canvasser has noted the anger or annoyance on the face of an approaching householder and so the canvasser has chosen to deflect the householder's animus away from himself and onto the best-known door-to-door group the world has ever known: Jehovah's Witnesses.
It is interesting that Jehovah's Witnesses engage in their ministry without regard to their personal benefit, but instead in obedience to Christ's command and in expression of their love for God and neighbor. In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

I think that you're lying!! One, to say that they are showing up at your house at 8am is hard to believe!! The easiest thing to do is to say that you are not interested. Don't give them a reason to keep coming back. The same way that your time is valuable so is their time. I bet you that they would not want to spend every weekend talking to you if you're not interested in what they have to say. Another thing, check with your husband and make sure that he has not talked to them himself. :)

number one. we do not go to anyones door at eight in the morning. we leave the kingdom hall at nine thirty and will not get to anyones door before nine thirty or ten. if you are really not interested in talking to a Jehovah Witness, kindly tell them to put your name on the do not call list and no one will bother you for two years or so. then when they call back again, you may of moved and the new person living there may be interested, if you are still living there then tell them you still not interested and to put your name back on the list. you don't have to be rude.

They will keep coming until you find a way to tell them off nicely and if that doesn't work (usually doesn't) you will have to find another way to tell them off. They are nice people, but tend to throw their beliefs on you and won't stop until you tell them to. They won't stop coming by until you become a jahovas witness or can get them to stop by something you say.
