'No — Adam didn't. Neither did Eve.'

Why? Because your belly-button (navel), or tummy-button as it's sometimes called, is a sign that you were once attached to your mother. You depended on that life-line — the umbilical cord — for your nourishment from her body as you developed inside her.

But our first parents, Adam and Eve, didn't develop that way. I believe that God would not have planted on them a false indication that they had developed in a mother's womb.

When God created Adam and Eve in mature form, the day they were created they might have appeared to be, say, 30 years old. But God wouldn't want or need to create the appearance of a false history, any more than the mature trees created by God would have had growth rings initially. Those are things which would develop in their offspring as a result of processes later on.

Don't know, but I doubt it since it is where the umbilical cord enters the body, and they never had umbilical cords since they were made with the appearance of age (hint, hint) - as adults.

Genesis1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
So they were to have children from the time they were created. Children were not the curse, labor in child bearing was.

There may very well not have been winters in the garden. And they were given animal skins when they left.

I suspect they did not

they lived to about 800 and they could prove to their many descendants about the creation that way

but they could have been created with the appearance of age... I just doubt it included a belly button scar

Only if they had an umbilical cord and placenta. The belly button serves no other purpose. They were made by the divine, weren't in a womb, so they didn't need either umbilical cord or placenta. if they didn't need it, they probably didn't have it. So no belly button.

thats an interesting question! i guess if you believe that they were not born by conventional methods then its possible they had no belly buttons. maybe God gave them one anyway so that they looked like their children. also it depends if you believe in Evolution or not. according to Catholicism you are welcome to believe that they were descended from some type of primate species as long as you believe that Adam & Eve were truly the first of the humans. so in that case they would have belly buttons because they were born into this world. interesting stuff.

I like your question! First of all, I don't believe in adam and eve, but if they were created, they shouldn't have one I guess. But now that you ask, I wonder if they would have any of the ,now rudimentary, organs intact and fully working.

There would be no reason to have one of God created Adam out of dust and Eve from his rib.

Good one !!! I would guess no- they were created in gods image (he has no mother therefore no belly-button) we are the spawn of their sin and different from them in that way .

Since neither of them were "born" then why would they have needed umbilical cords, and therefore why a belly button?
