Christ died to redeem us from our sins, if we accept His sacrifice and chose to turn from those sins and not practice them any more.

He died to save the sins of the people that have already sinned and the people that will sin in the future.

Yes and Yes.
Christ died for our sins, taking the just punishment due to us upon Himself, so that we could be forgiven. Having paid the debt for our sins, He has redeemed us from the bondage of Satan who held us as captives to do his will.
He has also broken the power of sin, which is law. Law says "if you do (so and so), you will be OK; but if not, you are indebted". Faith in Christ has set us free from law as a means of coming into right standing with God. Having been justified by grace, a change of nature occurs, bringing one into a new relationship with God, where we obey God to please Him, out of love, instead of out of fear of punishment.

The Bible tells us that our sin is the violation of God's law of love (1 John 3:4).

We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

We have each earned the death penalty for our disobedience (Romans 5:12; 6:23).

The profound love of Jesus Christ is illustrated in giving up His life on our behalf (Romans 5:6-8).

All would be doomed eternally had not somehow the penalty for our sins been paid. Christ, who lived a perfect life as the unblemished Lamb of God, substituted His death for ours. In fact, His death was the only possible substitution for ours. His sacrifice became the payment for our sins. He died in our place so we could share life with Him forever.

Paul referred to Christ as "our Passover" (1 Corinthians 5:7), and John recorded that John the Baptist recognized Christ as "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29).

For indeed "we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this man ... offered one sacrifice for sins forever ... For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified" (Hebrews 10:10-14).

God forgives us through Jesus Christ's sacrifice, and He "sanctifies" us—sets us apart—through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah prophesied of Jesus' suffering on our behalf: "Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and BY HIS STRIPES we are healed" (The prophet Isaiah 53:4-5).

Matthew 8:16-17 depicts incidents of healing in Jesus' ministry. Jesus helped "many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'"

Both actually... Had we never sinned, we never would have needed a Savior, but because we sinned, He came and took our punishment for us, which is what redeems us.

Jesus not only died on the cross for our sins, because of our sins and for our sins...he came here to live for us as well. He did it as a man and he lived a sinless life.

He knew pain, sorrow, temptation, anger, love, joy and friendship.

John 3:16-17

16 "God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. 17 God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.

yes, He paid a debt He did not owe
I owed a debt I could not pay
I needed someone, to wash my sins away
And NOW I sing a brand new song ''Amazing Grace''
Christ Jesus Paid a debt that I could never pay.
He paid that debt at Calvary,
He cleansed my soul and set me free.
I'm glad that Jesus did all my sins erase:
I now can sing a brand new song “Amazing Grace,”
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay.
One day He's coming back for me
To live with Him eternally.
Won't it be glory to see Him on that day!
I then will sing a brand new song “Amazing Grace,”
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay
