In the US, we have cheap gas. Even if it goes
to $3 a gallon it is still fairly cheap.

The price pretty much follows the price of a barrel of oil, with the exception of holidays, when retailers jack up prices to screw folks a bit.

Gas prices are being controlled by foriegn sources including OPEC and the middle east. Until we can become dependent of foriegn sources and rely more on domestic supplies and technologies, gas prices will continue to rise.

Not high enough. If they were higher, American auto makers would be forced to improve the efficiency and quality of their products, and they wouldn't be losing ground to Toyota and Honda. The way it is now, all they do is build gas guzzlers, and they throw in the occasional hybrid to get us to believe they are building efficient cars.

Still too high. I think what happened is that when they sky rocketed this past summer everyone was in shock. So, now they drop them a little and everyone feels better and doesn't talk about it anymore when actually they're still way too high they just aren't AS high.

Naturally I'd like to see prices lower but I can deal with the prices as they are right now. It is much better than the $3.00 and up prices last summer.

$2.19 a gallon I presume?
Count yourselves lucky, here in The Netherlands (Europe) prices are Euro 1.32 a liter
a gallon is 3,785 liters
3,785 x 1.32 = Euro 4,9962 = $6.15 per gallon !!!
