Could be design issue, could be intentional for spattering, could be that the faucet was cheap at a yard sale!
If you don't like it, replace it! I can do that and I'm a girl. Not my favorite job tho...

I agree! Then, I started a new job at a restaurant, and its the opposite. The faucet is so long, its close to the front of the sink and you get totally splattered! It's so long so it can reach all 3 sink holes. I say it's a mans design! Women would not do that!

My guess is that if the water was falling from a longer distance it will splash everywhere and be quite messy., particularly if you are in a high pressure area!
