1) You might try getting a bigger litter box so the cat can have more room to maneuver. I bought a rectangular shallow storage box (those plastic boxes with a lid that you buy from K-mart) becuase the kitty litter boxes in pet shops are just too small for my cat.

2) After your cat uses the litter box, clean it right away - scoop up poop and any solids. Tjis way, your cat will not accidentally step on old poop.

Feet and hands?!! Make sure it's a cat first!! Then switch to an absorbing litter. Make sure you clean the box a lot. It sounds like the cat is flicking the poop around to make a clean spot to use.

Perhaps you could try more cat litter? If he's trying to cover the evidence, it could be there's not enough litter in the pan. It needs to be a couple inches deep. Baby wipes, just the cheap kind, make a quick easy wipe for a wiggly cat.

First you should clean the litterbox. Then clean your cat. If the litterbox is getting to dirty to fast, you should try putting more litter in it, for easier cleanup you can use litterbox liners. You should be checking the litterbox often and figure out when you should clean it, I clean mine every two days. Also different types of foods can make them poop more. I know this was gross but hope it helps!

Same thing happens to my cat. Just make sure the litter box is regularely clean. If it still happens, everytime his feet and hands are dirty just wash them. If your cat hates being washed he will make sure to be more careful.

Yes, that is the same thing that my kitten does. He wipes his paws on the litter box, though. Try getting your cat/kitten into the habit of wiping his/her paws on the litter box. You could buy a special towel only for your pet and wipe him/her. Be careful not to wipe too hard, or else it will cause irritation. Also, don't use a cheap low-quality towel. That irritates the skin. plus...a pet deserves to be pampered!

What I do for that problem is I put like a rough doormat where he walks out of the litter box. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
