A couple of thoughts on how Christians in this forum can be more effective:
1. Stop telling people they're going to go to hell, even if that's what you believe. Stop speaking in a condescending manner, too. Questions like "Don't non-believers know they are doomed?" cause Christianity more harm than good.
2. Stop speaking as if you have hard proof of your beliefs. You don't - the only spiritual worldview for which full, hard proof exists is agnosticism.
3. Do not quote the Bible to non-believers. Most of the non-Christian people here are spiritual seekers who, in spite of what you may think, actually did give some thought to their spiritual choices. If a person doesn't believe in the Bible, quoting it is not going to help any more than if I (a Pagan) quoted the Charge of the Goddess to you.
4. Do not quote the Bible as "proof" of anything. From a scientific or logical standpoint - which is the one held by many non-believers - the Bible is not a valid source of information.

Thank you for presenting your thoughts in a logical, respectful manner. I agree with your suggestions. It is a waste of time to continually use something as proof that the other person absolutely does not believe. Presenting why one believes in something is very different from telling another person what is going to happen to him if he doesn't believe as you do.

I do think this would help many of us (not just the Christians) be more effective on this forum. Why?
1) Because saying "I know better than you" (as opposed to "here's a suggestion to consider") *never* makes the audience want to hear what the hell you have to say. Terms like "How can you be so stupid as to think XXX?" isn't going to convince anyone.
2) Individual faith isn't hard evidence for others. It's great for the individual. But it's kind of like saying, "I *know* you will love licorice, because *I* love licorice." Not always true.
3) (and 4) Yes, I've already read the Bible, so quotes are redundant and (per #1) insulting. Also, since it's only irrefutable proof for those with individual faith (per #2), it smacks of saying, "You've got to believe what Joe says, because Joe says you have to."
Thanks!

i imagine that passage applies to what we'd want to continuously be encouraging different Christian's to be questioning about when we answer questions that non believers have revealed. This became an noticeably solid scripture and that i imagine it matches effective and tight. Verse 18 is the middle of the be counted. solid searching, Searcher you deserve a star for that And God Bless! (edit) i'm a fellow Christian and that i'm not handing out thumbs down's to those who talk the words of Christ. So please do not generalize me with others who're negative. I also pray for all and sundry in this communicate board. thanks!

We do have evidence of our beliefs.
And if Christians aren't allowed to quote the Bible, then no other religion is allowed to quote anything from their texts either.
As for your last point,I have to disagree with you.Archaeological evidence supports the Biblical account of many events.
As for your first point,I am not condescending towards people with different views.

Kind of sounds like the advise of the Sanhedrin to the apostles. Pardon my Bible quote, but "Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking what we have seen and heard." (Acts 4;19,20)
You must understand that I consider my opinion to be of little value. i have found a more reliable authority than that.

Interesting how your suggestions are condescending, nonscientific, and illogical.
