Cats sleep about 3 hours in the morning, 8 in the afternoon, and about 5 at night, so an average of 16-18 hours a day. For kittens about 10.

Cats sleep a lot! I think 16 hours a day( Not all at once) is not to much sleep if you are a cat.

It all depends on the cat. I have 4 cats and they all sleep different amounts. I notice the older they are the more they sleep as my kitten is forever playing with stuff around the house and my oldest cat likes to sleep on my bed all day. And as for cats being nocturnial thats not always true cause my cats all sleep with me at night.

Normal cats sleep 2/3's of their life away. They spend about twice as much time sleeping as most other mammals. The amount of time a cat spends sleeping can depend on age, weather, temperature, hunger, sense of security, and sexual influences.

Cats are nocturnal by nature. Lions sleep all day because it is too hot to hunt in the day light. This carries over to our house cats. I often find mine roaming the house late at night. They do sleep a lot... Lucky cats!

felines spend an average of 13 to 16 hours each day curled up in slumber. Only the opossum and the bat sleep more – napping away almost 20 hours a day.

I easily have 2 cats (considering they were born) and they sleep each of the time. I not often ever see them. they're meant to sleep, like, 20 or so hours an afternoon!! they're fairly lazy animals, really sleep and devour and sleep, ect... :-P Cats also '%.' there human beings. one in each of my cats picked my mom and is continually round right here and purr's each of the time, even as she's petting him. My different cat, Tiger, picked me and is extremely cool. She sleeps with me till i bypass to sleep (i'm consistently lonely after I sleep in a motel). yet yea, cats are meant to sleep alote. :)

There is no set amount of time that cats should or should not have, Cats would sleep 24 hours a day if we let them.your cat will sleep when and how long they want.
