Try mixing some epsom salt with hot water. Then put some on your splinter and take a needle and poke at it. I tried that after reading it on the epsom salt container and it actually helped. I couldn't believe it, I defenitely think that you try it. Good luck. I hate those things.

I just take them out myself when I get them in. Will it hurt? Of course it will, you'll just have to deal with the pain somehow. It won't fall out on its own either, ignoring it will make it become infected, and you'll have an even bigger problem on your hands.
A little pain now will save you from larger problems down the road if you ignore it. My advice, get a pair of Tweezers with a magnifying glass attached. You can buy them at almost any drugstore for about 4-6 bucks or so. These work quite well cause you can see the splinter as a large piece and it makes remving it alot easier.

if it is a wood splinter that protrudes, try to use tweezers. it is is wood and under the skin, use a razor blade (or needle, etc...) to open up the skin around it. if it is Fiberglas, just leave it, you don't want to push it further in or even shatter it more. the worst that will happen is that it will stay in you. you'll be fine even if it does.

I would suggest taking an oatmeal bath. It worked for me and its really good for skin. If you are able to, use tweasers to remove it. Don't use a needle, it can get infected. If you have a friend who's a nurse, have her do it. Ir you witness any rash or scarring arounf the area, see your pediatrition immeadiately.

if it really bothers you, there are two things you can try, you can try soaking it, and you can try taking it out with a needle
