I have little baby hairs that curl and stick up straight when I get rained on. I don't want to straighten my hair because I like it curly. What do I do that is affordible for someone that just lost their job? I want to look good for my interview next week.

buy a bottle of Panteen conditioner at your local dollar store, leave it in your hair longer than 3 minutes, rinse with COOL water and blow dry on low setting, low heat.
The cool will help the hair to not frizz, maybe for an added touch you could use a little hair gel in your problem areas or some hairspray.
Jon Freida and Panteen also have frizzy fixers, but they can tend to run more money than myabe you would like to spend.

keep a tub of vaseline with you, and when you see the baby hairs roll up just dab your fingers and smooth it down
