so, i have short hair..barely up to my shoulders..
and the ONLY things that gets my hair a bit static-ky
is right when i brush it..after blowdrying with PRODUCT, mind you.
also, the product is used in tiny incrememnts..i don't overdo it, i just use a bit for my hair as needed.
so, should i use a different brush? how long does one usually keep a hairbrush for anyway?
so yeah..my hairbrush gives me static and i don't like that!
does anyone know an answer to this?

Just lightly spray a product called Static Guard on your hair brush after you see it getting static-y, and it will remove the static without leaving a residue on your hair. You can find it pretty much everywhere.

There are a number of different things to do get rid of static. For one, you can spray your brush with detangular or water. Or you can use a dryer sheet after you brush (this works great and your hair smells good afterwards too). Try also combing your hair in the shower when there is still conditioner in your hair with a wide toothed comb and/or condition your hair before you apply shampoo. Hope one of these tips helps you.

use a natural bristle brush, or rinse brush in water, or get a humidifier.
