Just wondering. Some kids in my highschool who were not obese but kind of over weight have went to one of those camps. Me and my friends have had conversations about how the world seems to leave guys and girls with acne in the gutter, while being over-weight (aka. comfertable with your body) is the new thing. Does anyone think that boys and girls with acne should have that kind of comfort also? I mean it's a huge turnoff if a person has acne...but it doesn't seem that much of a turnoff if you are over weight.

I was talking about how there aren't any groups for people who are depressed about acne. I mean, good point when one of you answerers said "do you want to mingle" but I'm saying there are so many people who comfort the ones over weight, while for people who have acne they treat it like they are dirty or they deserve it. I think that is not right and I keep people who have acne on the same level.

Probably because there are so many adds for products to help this. It is a skin condition. It won't kill you unless you pick and pop zits in the area under your eyes from the outside corners in an oval down to your mouth. It can cause an infection that easily gets into your blood stream.
Obesity on the other hand is much more life threatening and has long lasting effects including heart disease, hear attacks, strokes and diabetes. A much bigger drain on the health care system.

What world are you living in, fat people get discriminated against more often then people with bad skin so no they shouldn't have a chronic acne school or camp or "comforts", that's a dumb suggestion. Plus a lot people with acne can go get some pro-active or other skin care but weight is obviously not that easy to cure. If the kids are not that obese just kind of big, why were they going to fat camps? Weird stuff like that should really be only for the morbidly obese.

Chronic acne...have you tired a dermatologist?

Will chronic acne cause heart attacks, strokes and diabetes? Come on, put things in perspective.

Chronic acne will be outgrown without doing anything, weight is not lost automatically as a function of growing up.

here's the jist of it. overweight people can learn to lose weight people with acne can't learn to get rid of acne.
Acne is not a problem that you or someone created on their selves it just happens so there is no need for school only a dermatologist for medications and topicals to help control the acne.

You could place an ad in the paper for a support group in your area. Place an ad on craigslist. Start a yahoo groups online support group, if there is not one already. Get together to discuss treatments. Do online research about different things to try.

acne deserves a cure ! tell your friends to try a good pro-biotic. acne comes from inside the body... toxins escaping through the skin...so with a GOOD pro-biotic you will eliminate toxins regularly and not through the skin.. different people get rid of toxins differently ways. find a GOOD pro-biotic at a health food store. its the "good" stuff in yogurt only there isnt enough in yogurt to really help... its called ACIDOLPHILUS.

Why can't you ask your dr. what to do for your acne? Why do you need a school? Do you want to mingle or do you want to get rid of your acne?
