monosodium glutamate is considered a new additive to chinese cuisine and there are chinese restaurants that do not use msg. you can also specifically request to hold on the msg in your meals.

I don't agree with that theory at all. I've been getting migraines for like 25 years. They've been pretty fierce too. I don't think the Chinese food ever triggered mine. I take a wonderful profylactic pill every day- Topomax- What a great pill. MIgraine's have stopped like 90%. Ask your Dr.

When you go out for Chinese food tell them that you are allergic to MSG and ask that it not be put in your food.
BTW: I have suffered from migraines since I was 5 years old and MSG has never triggered one of mine. I guess it is different for everyone.

Yes it is the MSG that triggers headaches, specially if you get migraines. There are some places that don't use it, just ask around.

Nope, it just depends with the chef, on how much msg's or ingredients he PUTS in, so the answer is still nope! and ohhhh man, i love chinese foooooood, anyways, hope that helps!
