My daughter is a high school Sr. She will be attending college, and will be going for theatrical studies. I am searching the internet for schlorships that are directed towards that, and possibly something that would relate to a child from divorced parents. Can anyone help?

Before I begin, it costs nothing to locate scholarships. It does take time to hear back if considered for one.

First, once the income taxes are filed, fill out the FAFSA form because it will tap into need based financial aid from the state and federal governments along with the college itself. It is based on the family income and family resources.

Second, the high school guidance has a list of local scholarships for current high school students to apply for consideration.

Third, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too.

Fourth, the local public library has a book listing scholarships. Some are not even listed on the web.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on a form an individual fills out.

Good luck!
