I just went through this about 2 months ago... If it went like my apt.. they will look at the moles you are worried about and then check the rest of your body for other moles that might be problem spots. Then a few of my moles they were able to take care of right then and there... they just brought in a cup with some liquid in it. In the cup was also soaking a pair of small scissors. The didn't cut the moles they just applied the "liquid" to them with the scissors they all fell off a week or so later.
For the other ones that were too big, they will either shave them off or cut them out. You will be numbed first. It's not big deal. I had to go back in for a second apt for the ones that had to be cut. It was simple and easy no big deal
Good luck!

That depends. Nothing serious, and definately nothing painful.
I'm guessing he or she will take a history first, ask you about the mole, and then determine what needs to be done. If it's something quick and easy (like cryotherapy), he might be able to freeze and remove the thing right there. They'll numb the area with a lidocaine patch (no needle!), break out the liquid nitrogen, and off it goes.
If it's something more complicated, he or she might book you for a followup appointment (or two), once it's determined what needs to be done.
You'll be fine.

Laser mole removal is a surgical procedure in which a laser light beam is used to heat cells or tissue with the intent of manipulating or bursting them. The light beam is absorbed by the pigment of the mole, which is then broken up and absorbed by the body during the healing process. Because laser mole removal seals blood vessels, there is no need for suture or stitches.
Most are removed by laser.
The Laser light energy is absorbed only by the pigment in the skin. The pigment is broken up and then "carried away" by the body and absorbed during the healing process.

What happens after laser mole treatment?
Immediately after treatment, the area usually turns darker. This fades very quickly and the mole seems to "fall off" after 4-7 days. Makeup can be worn the same day and sunscreen is recommended for six weeks following treatment.

Depends on the dermatologist..... Some may just look at it, tell you you have nothing to worry about and send you on your way.... others may want to test it. . usually a punch biopsy. . it doesn't hurt, I've had them before, and if they remove it, they'll numb you first, you won't feel anything but a little poke from the numbing injection.

They just look at it to determine if they think its cancerous - then if they decide it needs to be removed you will make an appointment to come back. Technology is so advanced now you wont feel a thing if they do - they can even remove them using a laser now.

It probably will not be painful, don't worry and I have never had any problems when I have gone before.
