I am seeing this new guy and he has two dogs - a pit and a rock. I am terrified of animals and he is a true animal lover. He wants me to come over and hang at his place, but I would freak out if I went there. I live in another state and its hard for him to come down and visit me because he works alot of hours. Do you guys think it can work?

Well the truth is that you will either have to compromise with him or he will need to compromise with you. My advice to you would be to try to have him help you get over your fear. More than likely you will end up loving the dogs. Me myself I do not like them but if I like someone who had pets I would atleast try. You can never regret if you try. If you just give up then you will always wonder.

It can still work! You shouldnt be worried about that. Tell him the truth about your feelings for animals. Wanna hear a story about my best friend and i im a girl and he is a guy. I think we might be together soon. Anyways... well he has a dog and he invited me to his house and i told him that my eyes turn purple around dogs, and he said no problem come anyway. So i went and he put his dog outside just for me... so u see it could still work out if u tell him!

Not in this case I don't. My Dad and Mom have been married for 23 years and my Mom looooves animals like a crazy person and Dad could generally care less about them. In your case, it's not just that you don't like them it's that you are frightened. My Dad generally just ignores the animals... complains about them and all but at the end of the day he loves my Mom and that's that.
That would be your good example!

I love my roommate... but I HATE his dog! We fight about him all the time (dog) and this guy you like has two! If you think you can work with the dogs more power to you if not run while you still can. (your not in love with the guy yet I hope) I love animals! I love dogs. Just not this one.

In my oponion chances are very slim that this relationship will have enough backbone to build upon. Its very important for you both to hold some things in common. Chances are you will end up hurting his feelings about his animals and that wouldnt be very nice. Long distance relationships need to be very strong to build upon as well. One partner cant be the only one paying visits, it has to be both.

you should try to get used to the dogs, if he has them, chances are they are nice dogs, who would want a mean pet
