And how do your religious/spiritual beliefs or lack thereof effect your feelings on the topic?

For those of you that don't know in a few months cloned meat, meat product, dairy products, etc will start showing up on shelves and a lable to differentiate it will not be required. Short of becomming vegan or buying all Organic you will not be able to avoid it.

I'm especially interested in hearing how your beliefs effect your feelings on the topic, that's why I posted in this section.

In Europe labels are required -- why not in the U.S.? As usual, the FDA is in the hip pocket of big business.

I have already started buying organic. No Frankencow for me!

The fact is that the meat industry in the US is so poorly inspected and regulated that most of the meat sold in this country cannot be guaranteed as safe. The only meat that I consider safe is that which can be certified as organic. Everything else has a risk for mad cow disease, which is a horrible thing for any human being to die from.

As for cloned meat, this is sheer madness and hasn't even begun to be properly researched for even the most minimal standards of safety. But, here in America, we be all about big business and doing what's good for business and making it easy for business. It will come as no big surprise then when our elected leaders act all shocked and stupid if something horrible happens and the demand for body bags goes through the roof.

If it ain't certified organic, then JUST SAY NO.

I find the idea of eating cloned meat scary. I'm also bothered that they won't label it. However, only time will tell if it's safe or not.

Offhand I can't think of any scripture that forbids eating cloned meat. In fact, Jesus declared that all foods are clean. He said, "It's not what goes into a man's mouth that makes him unclean, but what comes out"--meaning lies, hatred, and other sins.

On the other hand, it would be a sin to put on the market food that the foodmaker KNOWS is unsafe. That would be a sin akin to murder (endangering people), theft (cheating the customer), and bearing false witness against your neighbor (lying about the product in order to get your money).

i'm a vegetarian, nicely pick to be, because of animal rights. i turned right into a vegetarian. i'm at boarding college and the govtcame upon out and now FORCES me to devour meat. I used to love meat yet after been vegetarian for 3 weeks i could not stand the flavor of meat. If I wasn't,t on the hostel i might want to truly go lower back to being finished vegetarian.

its not a true copy it should be illegal, it is not the same as twins, dolly had many problems age, immune system, joint and etc. and the reason for this is that the cell they get the info off of has already multiplied several times and with that comes genetic change, only way to clone perfectly is to get it from an embryo or fresh cell to speak

Well happy kid, I feel that cloning is a big achievement for scientists but at the same time i believe that its knda wrong because of their motives. it's not to provide new "meat" or improve science but so that they can play God by "creating" new life. But honestly and truly it was God who gave them the brains, the knowledge and who allowed them to think it yet they still deny Him. So there you go, my opinion :)
