A 12 year old boy needs to worry about his education, his household chores and any sports or other after school activities he's in. A girlfriend is nothing but a distraction.

Just be yourself mate... the right person will eventually come along.

I understand that having a girlfriend (or boyfriend) at school is important, but ultimately you will change immensely even by the age of 16. What I mean is your tastes, preferences and outlook on life is in a constant state of flux... even in my late 20's, I still learn new things about myself all the time.

I guess the thing is not to try to hard... just enjoy life and let whatever happens happen. Ultimately your girlfriend at age 12 is extremely unlikely to be the girl you'll be with at 60.

I would concentrate more on improving your studies, getting into sport etc and doing really well, be nice to girls and they will fall at your feet. I have found when your with someone you appear to more attractive to the opposite sex. Maybe this is because you don't appear desperate. I'm not saying you are but maybe your trying too hard. And don't forget your only 12 you have your whole dating life ahead of you enjoy being a kid. I say a kid because your not quite 13 years old yet lol. Good luck : )

I remember what that felt like but now looking back (WAAAAY back...I'm 36 now) I can tell you this...

Stop worrying about a girlfriend at 12. There are SO many other things that you should be concentrating on right now and to be honest...it should be YOURSELF.

Relationships, even at your age, are WORK. I'm sure you're surrounded by "couples" at school and it all seems so "perfect" for them on the surface but what you don't know is that once you get a girlfriend your life is entirely different. Girlfriends will expect you to somehow make them a priority over everything else that you normally used to do. (As they should...if you have a gf, then she is supposed to be near the top of your priority list.) If you aren't willing to do this...don't bother. Here's my example for you:

Think of whatever your favorite hobby is. Sports, video games, or whatever. Your gf will expect to be BEFORE that in your lifestyle. If you blow her off to go play basketball with the guys repeatedly...she will dump you. If she comes over and you play Xbox for 3 straight hours instead of talking with her, eventually she will dump you...because you didn't make her a priority.

If you aren't ready to rearrange your priorities for a girl, don't bother getting a girlfriend. Enjoy your single life...it'll be over before you know it!!

Hi kevin g,

This is a rough time for guys. Believe me, I remember it quite well. Your hormones are going nuts, and girls your age are developing pretty nicely. This is at the same time that you can't drive, make money, or really take girls out. This is probably a good time spent to do your research and start your training. If you can learn all that you can about sex.

There are tons of serious books and sites on the Internet to check out and learn all about sexual techniques and what you need to do to give your girl the best pleasure. Avoid the porn sites, except for your own pleasures. :-) There's also stuff that you need to learn about the psyche of girls (and women).

The training part of it is that girls like buff guys. You should take this opportunity to get on an exercise regiment. Lose some weight and do lots of sit-ups to get that nice washboard stomach that drives girls nuts.

You can also do some make-over type stuff, find out what kind of hair cuts and clothes the players in your school are wearing and make it your style too.

Also, you need to check out the Tom Leykis radio show to learn more about what you should do. You definitely need to learn a little Leykis-101 to get more women in your life. Find out if this show is broadcast in your area. Here's his web site:

I hope that this helps you. Good luck and happy hunting.

dude, take it from me, i got my first real relationship last year, towards the end im 13. it ended up falling apart, don't be so fast to jump in, you gotta know when its the entire right time, don't listen to anyone who says, "oh your too young" cause when the right time comes you'll know it. when the right girl comes you'll know it. but you can't rush things or you won't ever get into a real relationship that will work out good.

(edit) do not listen to the pinky girl above me, she has no idea what she's talking about, all you need to do is like the other people said, be a nice guy, thats what i do.

If your ugly, then you prolly won't get a cute gurl, but if your hot, you can get a Hot gurl! Ask people that are desperate, then go out for like 2-10 days, then go out with a different gurl, and then after about 5 times of doing this, you'll seem more appealing as you work your way up to a htoter gurl. Also just keep asking people out.

I'm sorry to tell you this Kevin, but if you're 12, you're still a child. Dating is so you can find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. You have PLENTY of time to find this person. I'm 14, and having a boyfriend isn't something I would really want right now. I'm sorry if you don't agree with me, but...
