I absolutly love pickles! I love them so much I can easily gobble down a whole jar of dills in one sitting! I've cut back to about one pickle a week, but It's hard because I love them so much! The problem is, I'm really afriad of getting stomach cancer, as I've heard eating lots of pickled things increace the risk. Other than eating lots of pickles, I'm not at high risk. I'm female, white, and I don't have any relitives that I know of that have suffered from stomach cancer or any other type of cancer actualy. But I'm so scared of getting stomach cancer! It is one of my worst fears! Does anybody know of any type of pickles that don't increase your risk, or that can tell me how many pickles in a month are safe to eat?

Check the label for calories and salt. Different pickles have different amounts of sugar and all have salt. Pickles do not cause stomach cancer. If you are concerned watch for foods that do not contain additives and preservatives and colors. One pickle a week is not bad. Sounds like you crave salt. Drink lots of water and get a varied diet with good fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain breads.

The amount of pickled foods you'd have to eat to cause cancer would me more than you COULD EVER eat. Just enjoy your pickles, but I suggeat making a jar last at least 2 days since they are high in sodium

pickles won't hurt you---I eat a lot of them because they are lo cal, no carb, and I am diabetic. High in sodium, tho!
Never heard of pickled foods causing cancer----no reason they would, it's salt & vinegar, which are natural.
