I have just bought myself a new DVD video camera and can't understand the instructions and realised that I have difficulty with just about anything modern I buy because the instructions that come with it are so complicated. Why don't they use straight forward language?

Since most consumer electronics come from the Pacific Rim, the instructions are first written in a different language, then translated into English. There are some things that just don't translate very well.

Get a life. If a teenager (me) can understand it, you surely can :-). The reason that you have difficulty with "modern" things is because lets say for example your DVD player can play mp3 cds. There is no way to "translate" mp3 cd into "normal english." You just have to know what it is. So the solution is to go to the handy place we call google (or actually answers.com or wikipedia is better for this), and find out about everything you dont know. Yes, it will take time, and it might seem even boring to you (gasp). But believe me, after you do this, anything you read afterwards will make a ton of sense. Hope this helps!
