Just eat healthy foods. No chips, soda, etc. Read the ingredients of things you buy. Partially hydrogenated is not good. Neither is saturated fat. Generally, healthy food is more expensive, but if you eat half of what you're eating now, then you pay the same price... if that makes sense. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and stay away from dessert (even if it's all natural) for a while.

YES!
There's a new plan for 2007 that was created specifically for people needing to lose 50 to 100 pounds or more and keep it off forever.
It's called The Logic Diet, and it's about to sweep the country!
If you and your husband start it at the same time, it'll be twice as easy!
This plan allows for a lot of food at first while you lose weight so you can keep your sanity, and there is NO exercise required in order to see the results.
Cheat days are even built into the plan so you and your husband could take days off together and plan an evening out or a pizza night!
Check it out at:
www.thelogicdiet.com
You are just the sort of people I'd like to take the plan and keep me updated on the Journal page at the website!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Well changing your diet to healthier foods is always going to raise your grocery bill but you can lose weight without suffering or paying Weight Watcher dues.
Cut out all white flour, processed sugars, eat fresh foods and drop the fried foods, high sugar foods and all non-diet sodas. Try whole wheat bread, whole wheat pastas, sea food. lean meats, fresh fruit, nuts and vegetables. Go through your kitchen and toss any food that has enriched flour or corn syrup in the label. Soups can be great if they have a clear broth. You'll find you aren't hungry because you aren't starving yourself. Try to keep below 1500 calories for men 1200 for women.
Also start exercising but don't join a gym. It's hard to find the time to get there and when you try to get out of your membership it can be as hard as breaking a deal the devil! You need about 30 minutes of exercise a day and it can be as easy as just fast walking. I personally started yoga and it's great.
Make sure you are eating every two hours. IE breakfast, snack, then lunch, snack then dinner and later snack but try not to eat two hours before bed. If you want to cheat and feel yourself breaking down then for God sake's cheat but make it count. Get something low on white flour preferably with semi sweet or dark chocolate. In fact cheating once a week can keep you going.
After a month of living this way you will have broken your craving for processed sugars. These white carbs are wrecking your blood sugar levels and keeping you in a constant roller coaster ride of ups, downs, hunger then crashing. Once you change your lifestyle you will be free of that. No mid afternoon slump, more energy, even your hair, skin and nails will look better. Also don't forget to get a good night's sleep! It doesn't matter how good you are. if you don't get enough sleep you won't lose weight.
I hope this was the easier answer you were looking for and I hope it works for you. I've lost 65lbs in 11 months this way.

All diets work if you follow them. If you and your husband want to keep the weight off you have to be willing to make lifestyle changes. You two already have an excellent support network in place (each other). Weight Watchers is one of the best programs available.

The easiest most healthy diet that I have tried is the South Beach diet...it was recommended to me by a health professional. No good diet is going to be cheep at the price of healthy food goes up.

you should look into the suzanne sommers "sommersizing" cookbook series. I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks, and didn't feel like I was dieting. the recipes are really good and easy to make. You may want to add some exercise in also.

you will lose about 10-15 if you just drink water for a month and drink green tea twice a day, and work out 15min a day, if you add a high protein diet to that... you can loose about 50 pound in three months.

If losing weight were easy no one would be overweight. Try sensible instead. No box processed foods, they are sooooo bad for you.
Old fashioned weight watchers without the pre packaged meals.

Make sure to see your doctor first to make sure that they wont be any complications. By just eating less and doing exercise you should loose good weight over a period of time. I have heard of some boxers that say that all they would have is green tea and and a piece of bread. But like I said.. is better to speak with your doctor.maybe he/she will be able to refer you to a nutritionist.
