my son had croup when he was a baby.. now he is over 2 and when ever he gets sich he gets real croupy?

last night he was really bad in made him throw up. the doctor keeps telling us that he will grow out of it but when and what can we do for him.

I know my little girl use to cough terrible when she was like three years old, she is eight now and it seems to have dissipated but I did a few things to ease her discomfort.

Have the room cool enough to allow easier breathing.
I also bought the stuff that you put in the babys bath from Huggies, or a similar brand, that had the stuff in it to open their airways. I would take a bit of it and put it in a humidifier also in her room so while she was sleeping it would help...it did thank goodness!!
If it persists the doctor always recommended bringing her into the bathroom with the shower running to produce steam...
