Either, they're both very good airlines. ~~~

The answer sadly lies in your budget. Neither airline are particularly fantastic transatlantic and the price your pay for tickets does not relate to the service you receive (Economy). IF you are prepared to pay extra to upgrade in a Plus or higher cabin then your seating will be maximum 31" on BOTH Virgin and BA. The only time you receive better seating, meals and entertainment in on an upgrade. HOWEVER Thomas Cook following their take over of MyTravel now travel to Las Vegas. There ECONOMY is a standard 33", which you will see is better than ANY other transatlantic airline. The prices are now hugely different either. However you will find that BA do have a sale on at the moment so again i guess money rules. Why not try other airlines too such as BMI, Air France, Lufthansa or even the US carriers (AA, USAirlines, Continental etc). Out of your two choices though I would choose BA, it's always nice to say you have flown on the flag carrying airline of your country.

Have flown both. BA the first time, Virgin every other time. Virgin is way, way better. Excellent service, great food, and really friendly, helpful cabin staff.

I once heard a story that if you insist on booking with Continental to Orlando, you fly Virgin. However, Virgin are obliged to give preference to Continental passengers. Thus if you turn up at the airport and book for the next flight, and it is full, they will fly you free on the next flight after. Anyone else heard this? I've never tried it

i flew to orlando with virgin atlantic, they were ok, but the air hostesses were quite rude and abrupt!also there was a massive delay when i went, once we boarded the plane it took about 4hours to take off but luckily i was asleep otherwise i would have gone mad. Even before the boarding of the plane, there was another delay of about 1hour. I checked in early, thinking everything was fine, if i didnt see my friend in the line i would never have known that the plane was delayed and that i had to check in again!!! I wouldnt fly with them again! I flown with BA before to Egypt, that was better and the leg room was great and so was the service....so i would go for BA

If you are after quality service, I'd have to say Virgin too.

If you want a cheap flight, I'd recommend going with American Airlines (as it is off peak at the moment).
