The joke is on you. The root word for both Wicca and wicker is the Teutonic "wik" meaning flexible and referring most often to a green, flexible branch. The first "witches" or "wiccas" were those who used flexible branches to search for water under ground (water witching). The flexible branch often used for this process was from the Rowan tree - which is now sacred to Wiccans.
