My nephew, will be 7, and my son, will be 4, are having a melded Birthday party. My sister and I have decided to have it in an indoor swimming pool since the kids will love it. I have bought plates and napkins that are kinda Luau ish. I bought smaller plates that just have fish on them for the cake. Are luau's too girly for the boys?

Not at all, perhaps if you had a cake that was like a surfboard you could go for that Hawaiian feel and still have something quite boyish

No luaus are perfect especially with the indoor pool idea... They are still young so it will probably be a lot of fun for them...
If you wanted to change the theme you could go with pirates and buried treasure... anyway, good luck!

do two cakes with a bridge connecting them and go for a swimming pool theme ,that way both kids have their own cake and it will be easier to decorate for,[you can buy cake decorating stuff at the craft stores]

Nope and it would be cool if you bought a bunch of T shirts and they could paint their own luau shirts.

Not at all. The fun will be in the pool anyway. Have fun!

no. just make sure that the color theme isn't pink, purple, or any stereotypical girly color.
