I have a waitressing job where I have to wear a cosume that might be considered sexy. I get my picture taken ALOT, which is fine. But, ALOT of men, usually middle-aged or older, will put their arm around me and cop a feel, and the other night, one got real close to my ear, kissed it about a million little times, like he was being sneaky, and then made a little growling noise. This job is a cake-walk. People's tabs are HUGE. I won't quit over this, but is there a way to curtail it??

Step back, smile sweetly and say " Looking is great, but no touching" say it like you would to a baby, which this jerk is, but not nasty or threatening, just real sweet and smiley. Then tell either the owner or bouncer to keep an eye out for that guy. If neither of them will back you up, you do need to wonder what would happen if you really had a bad experience and no one would care, for a woman thats not safe and no job is worth that kind of danger.

Sexual assault is just that, no matter what the degree. There is no reason that you should take that from anyone that you wait on. You are a person, not the customers' entertainment. Tell your boss, and if he does not do anything about it, call the labor department. It may just be harmless little grabs now, but what will it be in a year if you do not do anything? Please, stop these people from treating you like that.

It's up to your boss to ensure that you have a safe, comfortable workplace. I would absolutely mention this them. Considering the environment you are working in, I'm sure its something they've heard from other girls before and may be able to give you suggestions on how to handle it.

You may also want to talk to other waitresses and ask them what they do in that type of situation.

Maybe you should say something to the management at your job. If that doesn't work, you have to ask yourself is the HUGE tab worth feeling like a piece of meat?

Tell them a flat out "Don't touch me like that." I had that problem but was told by my boss to say no once at the begining otherwise they'll be grabbing you by the end of the night. When they cross that line tell them. They never know unless you tell them, right?

sounds like you are going to have to put up with it to keep the big tips coming in or you could find a job at a more respectable establishment and loose the income.

Personally, I wouldn't take it. But we all have choices to make. We must learn to take the good with the bad.
