knock back the chance of Champions League football with Celtic instead, signing for Charlton and the possibility of Championship football in 6 months time? Is it all down to money?

It looks like he is going to Sunderland not Charlton. The Celtic one is easy ...he scored 13 goals for Falkirk including 3 hatricks in 3 months so he has probably seen the quality in that league playing for one of the poorer teams and realised what a joke it is. In terms of the Champions League Football , Celtic have been using this as a carrot for players for years and I think its attraction is wearing off on a lot of young talented players who will get there at some stage anyway. Sunderland are on the way up , they have big potential , the addition of Stokes to the squad will been seen as a sign of their ambition and probably attract more top class talent. If The Black Cats dont go up this year via the playoffs ...watch them waltz through that league next year.

BTW I m a Gooner not a Black Cat...before Im accused of bias.

I have just read on the BBC website that Sunderland are signing him.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has pulled off a major transfer coup and landed Arsenal's Anthony Stokes - ahead of Celtic and Charlton.

yeah money could be a factor, and why not, yeah your right about the champions league and winning titles and cups but would he get a game at Celtic, i doubt it, think about it without being bias what would you do, a big fat check in your face the chance to play at the best grounds in the world full house's every week, am sure id rather do that, he is young and if he is that good he will get his chance in Europe, if he is that good why did arsenal not keep him?

He hasnt signed for Charlton yet and i dont think he will either. Anyways, Celtic will be out of the Champions League soon and Championship football is still better than piss poor scottish football.

basically cause the chance of playin in the premership its so much easier to get into the real big teams if u can score just as many goals as he has this season, could maybe even go back to arsenal lol

Because despite claiming that he would love to play for Celtic he showed himself up as the money grabber that he is.
No ambition-just greed!
