Yeah talk to your parents first of all.
I didnt know my daughter was so depressed that she was doing it, until she attempted suicide, dont wait!
She has been on anti depressants since March and hasnt cut herself even once, she once again cares enough about herself not to do that, and also helps other people she knows to get help.
Get help! Take care. Good luck.
P.S. if your family wont help you, call 911 tell them you are cutting yourself they' ll get you help!

So first don't listen to kyle. Second, as much as it would help talking to your parents about it trust me I know its a lot easier said that done. I used to cut. It can definetly be a way to handle stress. But try something as simple as writting down whats going on in your head. Almost like a journal but write anything. Even if its an idea you had about where Jack from Jack in the box goes on vacation. I'm mean just write any thoughts you have down. Read them periodically so that way you can better understand yourself and whats goin on in your own mind. And definitly try to confide in someone. It helps a lot. I've been there.

i know how you feel i started cutting myself when i was 13 and didn't stop til i was 19 the thing that helped me was seeing what it did to my family and friends the look in my grandmas eyes when she saw my arm fir the first time was heartbreaking...i don't know if your ever planning on having kids but i just had a baby girl and I'm am fearing the day when she asks me what happen to my arm what will i tell her that i wasn't strong enough or i didn't care....i don't know if you have ever been hospitalized but i have and all that does is take weeks out of your life.....what you need is a good support team family friends that can just listen or instead of cutting your self take up a journal and write all your feeling down it helps trust me or if its the pain you crave wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it when you get the urge to cut...i don't know if any of this will help but i tried......

First you need to find out what triggered it, then you need to know that you can't let any event lead it to you hurting yourself. You have to admit it is a problem and the solution is to stop immediately. Your problem needs a healthy outlet. Maybe talk it out to a loved one or tackle it yourself and overcome it.
I know when I get stressed or upset I start scratching my arms. After a few days, I look at them and ask myself why did I do this?
I don't do it as often anymore, after I admit it is a problem and not normal.
I think you need to take a deep breath after any event then think do you really need to do this, because what you are doing is NOT SOLVING THE PROBLEM. ITS JUST MAKING IT WORSE. Once your realize this you are on your way to overcoming it. You can do it!!
Forgive yourself and just don't do it again.

oh, just reading the answers, and the natalie persons reminded me of something. while i was going out w/ a previous bf, his 7 year old brother asked me why i had a "Z" on my arm (happend to end up like that), and it was awful. yeah, another thing, besides the threat of goin back to therapy, that stops me, is i'll tell a friend when i have the urge. like the other week me and my bf were fighting online, and i felt awful bc of it, and i told him i had to go so many times, and when he finaly asked y i told him. he said if i cut myself he'd never talk to me again. so i didnt. i just cried it out. and i've done it in the past, one friend said the same, he'd never talk to me again. and my best friend, idk i was actually uncomfortable at the time talking to her about it. cuz she too was concerned about me killin myself. yeah. i ramble, sorry. but actually, i stumbled upon an exerpt from a book id love to read, on a website. it was describing the typical cutter, and it was insane, bc they described my exact personality. i mean there wasnt anything in there that wasn't about me. and not like u can be like "oh that hororscope is so relating to this". i mean it was me exactly. yeah, i'll find the exerpt.
